BIO

Intrinsically Motivated, Devoted, and Impactful

Born in San Diego, California, and raised in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I graduated from Bethel High School in 2019 with the highest honors. During my high school career, I participated in many extracurricular activities: band, track, Army JRTOC, and two part-time jobs. While track and field was one of my most tenured activities in high school, I had the opportunity to compete against some of the most prestigious athletes in and out of the state of Virginia. As for Army JROTC, in my third and final year, I was designated as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major, the third highest in the active chain of command, where I was able to oversee the company commanders within the battalion and provide support where needed.

After graduating in June 2019, I started my journey of higher education at Old Dominion University. Initially, I started as a computer science major, quickly realizing the curriculum lacked some of the courses that interested me. Eventually, I switched to becoming a cybersecurity major with a minor in criminal justice. During the second semester of my freshman year, COVID-19 struck our campus and created the virtual environment at ODU. Entering my second year, I knew I wanted to serve the campus community. Therefore, I applied and was appointed as the Director of Administrative Affairs for the Student Government Association at ODU. In this capacity, I had the pleasure of working with several distinguished individuals, both staff and student body, who devoted themselves to protecting the Monarch community while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Together we worked on innovative ideas for the Monarch community to stay safe while still partaking in in-person classes and campus involvement. As the Director of Administrative Affairs, I had the distinct pleasure of overseeing a committee of young individuals who assisted with campus involvement and advocating for the student body.

After my sophomore year, I was accepted into the Cyber LeADERS Scholars Program. This program is funded by the National Science Foundation and provides students the opportunity to receive 2-3 years of support. Students under the scholarship must work for the federal government in a cybersecurity capacity post-graduation. The scholarship provides full-coverage for tuition and a monthly stipend during the academic year. In the Summer of 2022, I had the pleasure of interning for the Virginia Board of Elections, where I was titled “Cyber Navigator”. Our objective was to provide support and insight for localities and help strengthen their cybersecurity structure.

In the Fall of 2022, I prepared to finish my undergraduate degree with an expected graduation date of December 17, 2022. I aspire to obtain a full-time entry-level position with a federal agency where I can grow and develop my skills in cybersecurity within a professional environment.

Fun Facts: I am a Novice bodybuilder, and a dog dad, I love to read both non-fiction and fictional books, and I enjoy traveling. Lastly, I hope to one day obtain my Doctorates degree.
